This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit depicting the heavily modified jeeps used by the British Special Air Service, the design originated in North Africa, where the Long Range Desert Patrol adapted their jeeps to guerrilla warfare and devastating commando raids.
 
Stripped of all non-essential parts, laden with supplies, and mounting a pair of Vickers K guns operated by the passenger, SAS jeeps were used to a devastating effect against Nazi installations - especially airfields, where the wide open spaces and lack of obstructions allowed commandos to damage and destroy enemy planes with ease.
 
The design proved effective enough to be used in Europe as well, benefiting from the robust road networks of Western Europe. It was one of the tools that allowed the SAS to rack up a tremendous amount of victories against German forces and their allies.
